Boxcar Bertha Thompson (Barbara Hershey) und der Bahngewerkschaftskämpfer Big Bill Shelly (David Carradine) sind ein Paar, mit dem Farbigen Von Morton (Bernie Casey) ist sie befreundet. Bei einem Würfelspiel lernt sie den Spieler Rake Brown (Barry Primus) kennen. Als er bei einem Pokerspiel beim Falschspiel erwischt wird, erschießt sie Rakes Widersacher. Die drei Männer werden zusammen mit anderen festgenommen. Bertha befreit sie aus dem Gefängnis und von da ab beginnen sie den Kampf gegen den Bahnchef Buckram Sartoris (John Carradine), indem sie Züge und eine Party des Bahnchefs überfallen. Bei einem der Unfälle wird Rake Brown getötet, Bill Shelley und Van Morten landen in einem Zwangsarbeiterlager, Bertha schlägt sich als Prostituierte durch. Die drei begegnen sich nach der Flucht der beiden wieder. Der Mördertrupp des Bahnchefs findet Bill und kreuzigt ihn an einen Güterwaggon. Von Morton erschießt die Killer. Die ausgewählte Sequenz zeigt die Entwicklung der Gruppe vom ersten Mal, als sie ganz linkisch den Postwaggon ausraubt, über die euphorische Leichtigkeit ihrer Überfälle bis zu der Situation als Bertha bewusst genießt, welche Macht sie mit ihrer Waffe ausüben kann.

You Make Me Think About You is the theme from "With Six You Get Eggroll" Doris Day's last movie-1968. Sung by a vocal group in the background of Doris pondering over Brian Keith. It's unfortunate that Doris didn't sing it as well. In fact she didn't sing in this film at all. Also co-starring a young Barbara Hershey. Doris' fabulous film career spanned from 1948 (Romance On The High Seas) to 1968 (With Six You Get Eggroll) This haunting tune was composed by Robert Mersey and Bob Hilliard. Mersey also did the film score. Recorded by Johnny Mathis on his Those Were The Days album with the Robert Mersey orchestral arrangement.
