	The Jossies: Firefly (the series) Dino's review of The Avengers: www.youtube.com My over two-years old proclomation that Joss Whedon was the perfect choice to direct The Avengers: www.youtube.com "Firefly" was Joss' VERY short-lived "space western" about a crew of final frontier bandits flitting about the galaxy in the prusit of ill-gotten gains and maybe a little peaceful downtime every once in a while. It was canceled after only about ten episodes had aired, but was thankfully resurrected as a one-time feature film wrap-up entitled "Serenity". Nathan Fillion of "Castle" stars as Captain Malcolm Reynolds, a former resistance fighter. His crew includes his second-in-command, Zoe, played by Gina Torres. Zoe is married to the ship's pilot, Wash (Alan Tudyk). Rounding out the crew are the engineer Kaylie (Jewel Saite) and professional badass Jayne (Adam Baldwin). The main cast is completed by three characters who board the ship in the first episode as paying passengers; preacher Shepard Book (Ron Glass), doctor Simon Tam (Sean Maher) and his fugitive sister River (Summer Glau).
